#1. Research support officer (*Already Filled*)
Purpose of the Position:
The Research Support Officer will be responsible for supporting OGAV in areas such as communication, research analysis and synthesis, as needed. They will assist with writing grant proposals and research funding opportunities that align with OGAV’s mission.
The researcher support officer will be under the direct supervision of a Director on a weekly basis. Supervision will include job-specific training prior to starting the job, work instruction and tasks and evaluation of the work regularly as well as to discuss concerns or issues. Each youth hired will also receive one-on-one mentoring throughout the eight weeks to support career related training and skill development.
Summary of Duties:
- Identifying grant funding opportunities.
- Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals.
- Research other fundraising opportunities
- Assist in the preparation of social media announcements and web materials.
Skills and Knowledge:
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years experience conducting literature and scoping reviews and writing research reports.
- Advanced computer skills including extensive familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs.
- Excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
#2. Education Program Coordinator (Summer Camp Program Planner or Summer Camp Logistics Planner)

Purpose of the Position:
With the support of OGAV leadership, the Education Program Coordinator will develop a plan for the implementation of a STEM camp for girls. The coordinator will be responsible for a needs analysis and education plan for the program.
The coordinator will be under the direct supervision of a Director on a weekly basis. Supervision will include job specific training prior to starting the job, work instruction and tasks and evaluation of the work regularly as well as to discuss concerns or issues. Each youth hired will also receive one-on-one mentoring throughout the eight weeks to support career related training and skill development.
Summary of Duties:
- Conceptualize and develop a plan to implement a STEM camp for girls that adheres to the mission, purpose and goals of OGAV.
- Analyze to determine cost, logistics, and appropriate ministry (or other) policies required to run the program.
- Develop the structure, content and objectives of the program.
- Develop teaching materials and other resources for program delivery
Skills and Knowledge:
- Post-Secondary education in recreation, education or related field or an approved combination of education and experience.
- Experience with STEM education
- Experience working with youth populations representing the range of diverse communities in the GTA.
- Knowledge of Youth Services sector in the GTA
- Minimum 3 years of Community Outreach/Development experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
- Proven ability to plan and manage resources
- Ability to deliver presentations
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Self-Directed – Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications
#3. Youth Development Coordinator (*Available*)
Purpose of the Position:
Youth Development Coordinator is dedicated to help the organization with strategic planning to reach both short and long term goals. They will work with the Education Coordinator and Research Support Officer within OGAV to develop the plan.
The coordinator will be under the direct supervision of a Director on a weekly basis. Supervision will include job specific training prior to starting the job, work instruction and tasks and evaluation of the work regularly as well as to discuss concerns or issues. Each youth hired will also receive one-on-one mentoring throughout the eight weeks to support career related training and skill development.
Summary of Duties:
- Develop and implement best practices for community outreach
- Source new partnerships with other community organizations with similar missions.
- Examine risks and potentials for new partnership opportunities.
- Establish and implement a clear process for on-boarding new community partners.
- Research trends and needs in youth services for girls and young women.
- Research information and recommend new projects that support the overall educational mission of OGAV.
- Develop a strategic plan for the development of new programs.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Post-Secondary education in recreation, education or related field or an approved combination of education and experience.
